Soccer Game Preview: Myers Park vs. West Mecklenburg + How To Watch

The Myers Park Mustangs will face off against the West Mecklenburg Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Myers Park has five straight victories, West Mecklenburg has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Myers Park's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Hopewell. Considering Myers Park have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Hopewell from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, West Mecklenburg fell victim to South Mecklenburg and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Sabres, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, West Mecklenburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while South Mecklenburg are ranked 16th).

Myers Park's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for West Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17-2.

Myers Park took their victory against West Mecklenburg in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
