Basketball Recap: Ralana Spence's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Discovery over Sebring

Discovery lost against Sebring back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Discovery Spartans fell 32-24 to the Sebring Blue Streaks.

Discovery lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ralana Spence, who posted seven points.

Leading Sebring to victory were Molly Jane Zwayer and Adriana Maldonado. Zwayer dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards, while Maldonado had 19 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Maldonado has posted since back in November of 2024.

Discovery has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Sebring, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Discovery will venture away from home to face off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sebring has already played their next contest, a 55-33 victory against Avon Park on the 28th.
