Basketball Recap: Sioux Center Find Success

After losing to West Lyon the last time they met, Sioux Center decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sioux Center Warriors pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over the West Lyon Wildcats on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Wildcats are ranked second).

The victory made it two in a row for Sioux Center and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for West Lyon, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.

Sioux Center will be home for the holidays to greet Boyden-Hull at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Lyon and St. Mary's will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something West Lyon surely won't give up without a fight.
