Basketball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Fillmore Flashes

Two dominant guards in Levi Oakes and Jaime Soto are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Moorpark Musketeers will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Fillmore Flashes at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Moorpark is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Frontier on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Moorpark was outmatched by Frontier and fell 70-43. The Musketeers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Fillmore was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Newbury Park, falling 73-38.

Fillmore's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Moorpark, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Everything went Moorpark's way against Fillmore when the teams last played back in December of 2017, as Moorpark made off with a 68-45 victory. Does Moorpark have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fillmore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
