Cozad had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against Valentine by a score of 2-0. The Haymakers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on Valentine, so the Haymakers were just returning the favor.

Cozad never let Valentine on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18.

Cozad's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Negley, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Negley has posted over her last eight contests.

Cozad's record now sits at 14-11. As for Valentine, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Cozad will venture away from home to square off against Minden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valentine, they will host Todd County on Tuesday.
