Baseball Recap: Newport Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Newport Central Catholic lost against Ryle back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Thoroughbreds took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The Thoroughbreds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newport Central Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eddie Bivens, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Newport Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Ryle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport Central Catholic will head out to challenge Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ryle, they will venture away from home to face off against Fairmont at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
