Volleyball Recap: Heritage Falls Short of Homestead in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Heritage can now relate to. They fell just short of the Homestead Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Heritage's loss came despite strong showings from Chase Buuck and Braden Walter. Buuck had 12 digs and two aces, while Walter had eight kills and eight digs. Walter has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 15 times he's played.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Homestead, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 29-5.

Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, Homestead and Carroll will shake off the rust and duke it out at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
