Basketball Game Preview: Denver South Ravens vs. Rangeview Raiders

The Denver South Ravens will take on the Rangeview Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Denver South comes in on four and Rangeview on 11.

Last Tuesday, Denver South beat Vista PEAK Prep 71-60. Given the Ravens' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Bison are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Dominic Rhoades-Martinez, who went 9 for 17 en route to 25 points along with five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Brody Shepherd was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Rangeview beat Northfield 74-68 on Tuesday.

Rangeview's win came from a few key players Denver South will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ladavian King, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Archie Weatherspoon V, who went 9 for 16 en route to 23 points and six assists.

Rangeview pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Denver South, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Denver South skirted past Rangeview 55-53 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Denver South repeat their success, or does Rangeview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
