Recap: Los Fresnos Falcons vs. Hanna Golden Eagles
The Los Fresnos Falcons posted their closest win since November 24, 2023 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-69 victory over Hanna. The victory was familiar territory for Los Fresnos who now have three in a row.
Los Fresnos was led to victory by Jj Salazar and Gio Galvan. Salazar scored 24 points along with six assists, while Galvan dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. Galvan hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Cervantes, who scored eight points.
Los Fresnos has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Hanna, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.
Los Fresnos will look to defend their home court on Monday against San Benito at 6:00 p.m. San Benito will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1126th, while Los Fresnos is ranked 375th). As for Hanna, they will head out on the road to challenge Weslaco at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
