Softball Recap: Waverly Comes Up Short

Waverly came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Owego Free Academy River Hawks by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the River Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Waverly and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Waverly is set to face off against their familiar foe Seton Catholic Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Owego Free Academy will take on rival Chenango Forks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
