Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Baptist Hill Bobcats
The Cross Trojans waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against Baptist Hill by a score of 60-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cross also won the last time the pair played on January 10th.
Cross was led to victory by Caden Ramsey and Dominick Lampkin. Ramsey dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Lampkin scored 22 points. Ramsey is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
When it comes to explaining why Baptist Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rickey Middleton Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Cross has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Baptist Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross will square off against Burke at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burke will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Baptist Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John's at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John's is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
