Dominican hasn't had much luck against St. Joseph recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m. Dominican is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Dominican turned things around against West Allis Central on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Bulldogs.
Tyler Feldbruegge made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dominican let Colin Flattery and Michael Perez-Cruz run wild. Flattery went 2-for-3 with one run and one double, while Perez-Cruz went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Dominican is 5-1 when Perez-Cruz posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise. Joseph Cabral was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Dominican always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph came up short against Wisconsin Lutheran on Monday and fell 4-1.
St. Joseph saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robbie Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Dominican's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dominican has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like St. Joseph struggles in that department as they've averaged .494. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dominican suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to St. Joseph in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
