Baseball Recap: Ripley Comes Up Short

Ripley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.58 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 12-3 to the Hurricane Redskins. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 8th.

Ripley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Curry, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Curry has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Ripley's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Hurricane, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Ripley will take on Cabell Midland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hurricane, they will challenge George Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Redskins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
