With a playoff win on the line, Ninety Six rose to the challenge  on Wednesday. They blew past the Clinton Red Devils 10-1. Considering the Wildcats have won 14 matches by more than five  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Meghan Kimberling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Jocelyn Coleman, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Janiyah Squire, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
Ninety Six has  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Clinton, their defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-10-1.
 Ninety Six wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  3-0  victory against North Central on the 9th. Clinton has also already played their next  match (against Landrum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
