Baseball Recap: Worcester Tech Takes a Loss

South hit Worcester Tech with a nine-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Colonels, falling 11-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Worcester Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Sasso, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Worcester Tech and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for South, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Worcester Tech will venture away from home to take on St. Bernard's Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bernardians have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for South, they will face off against Shepherd Hill Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
