Football Recap: Westbury Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Westbury had won three straight road games and Jefferson Rivas Hernandez did his part to make it four on Friday. The Huskies strolled past the Sharpstown Apollos with points to spare, taking the game 45-27 with plenty of help from Rivas Hernandez, who rushed for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making four total tackles, and defending two passes.

Westbury's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Derrick Jones, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Westbury's record is now 8-1. As for Sharpstown, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Westbury will square off against Galena Park at 7:00 p.m. on November 1. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Yellowjackets have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests. As for Sharpstown, they are taking a road trip to square off against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Apollos will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
