Madisonville (Texas) running back Chris Whaley showed Friday night why he is considered one of the top junior prospects in the country, racking up 384 yards and five touchdowns on 41 carries to propel his Mustangs to a 63-48 win over Palestine Westwood.

 

After watching his team fall behind 21-7 in the second quarter, the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder responded with touchdown runs of 6, 34, 13, 40 and 14 yards to help Madisonville take the District 3A-19 contest and advance to 6-1 on the season.

 

The junior back also provided the Mustangs with four two-point conversion runs, giving him 38 points for the game. Whaley has run for 1,226 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.
