Maize had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Haysville Campus Colts by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Luke Ethridge tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Gavin Short was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Mario Lerma also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Maize hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.
