Softball Recap: Red Bluff Gets the Win

Red Bluff posted their closest win since March 31st on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Truckee Wolverines 10-9.

Red Bluff let Kylie Orduno and Serenity Miranda run wild. Orduno went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Miranda went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave Orduno a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Owens, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Red Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Red Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Truckee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.

Coming up, Red Bluff will head out on the road to take on Foothill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Truckee, they will host Gridley at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
