Basketball Recap: Tyee Takes a Loss

Tyee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Cedarcrest Red Wolves on the road by a 39-20 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-26 back in December of 2024.

Cedarcrest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Rogers out in front who posted five points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Rogers a new career-high in blocks (four). Belle Gellner was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Tyee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cedarcrest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Tyee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-31 win against Rainier Christian on the 20th. Cedarcrest has also already played their next game, a 41-25 victory against Sultan on the 18th.
