Softball Recap: Sebastopol Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Sebastopol won the last time they faced J.Z. George and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sebastopol Bobcats put the hurt on the J.Z. George Jaguars with a sharp 20-1 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Kadence Robertson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Marlee Smith and Bryleigh Myers did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Myers went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Payton Chamblee also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sebastopol kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.

Sebastopol pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for J.Z. George, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Sebastopol will have a chance to go back-to-back against J.Z. George: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
