Basketball Recap: Jackson Waterworth's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wellington-Napoleon over East

Wellington-Napoleon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-38 heartbreaker at the hands of East.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Waterworth, who posted 12 points. Jonny Hampton was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Leading East to victory were Jonathan Bruce and Mike Conway. Bruce dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards, while Conway went 5 for 12 on his way to 19 points. The match was Bruce's 14th in a row with at least ten points.

Wellington-Napoleon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Wellington-Napoleon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-37 win against Cameron on the 1st. As for East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-49 loss against Richmond on the 30th.
