Baseball Recap: Fredericksburg V Comes Up Short

Fredericksburg V fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against NOVA HomeSchool on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Victory in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Adam Dewald was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Dewald is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Landon Reckard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Fredericksburg V's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for NOVA HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Fredericksburg V will host Fairfax HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for NOVA HomeSchool, they will venture away from home to square off against Riverdale Baptist at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
