Softball Recap: Central Valley Hawks vs. Livingston Wolves

Central Valley was the 9-0 winner over Livingston when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Central Valley took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Livingston on Friday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alicia Espinoza was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reylena Herrera, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Central Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Livingston, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Central Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-2 win against Johansen on the 24th. As for Livingston, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-3 victory against Hilmar on the 22nd.
