Leah Cawthon was a major factor in Chico's victory over Shasta on Tuesday. Cawthon struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Cawthon and Chico will take on Red Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
