Baseball Game Preview: Justin Garza Guardians vs. Sierra Chieftains

The Justin Garza Guardians will venture away from home to face off against the Sierra Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Justin Garza, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Justin Garza earned a 6-1 victory over Edison. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Guardians.

Luke Trukki spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has become a key player for Justin Garza: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-14 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Perales, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Sierra entered their contest against Liberty on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Chieftains took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Zach Lloyd made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Justin Garza, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
