Basketball Recap: Oskaloosa Bears vs. Pleasant Ridge Rams
Even though the Oskaloosa Bears have not done well against the Pleasant Ridge Rams recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Oskaloosa put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 60-37 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Oskaloosa.
Oskaloosa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Richie Rockhold led the charge by scoring 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rockhold has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trenten Vanhoutan, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Brady Mance scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Oskaloosa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Pleasant Ridge, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Jackson Heights the next time they take the court. Oskaloosa will head out to face the Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Rams will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
