Baseball Game Preview: Wetumpka Indians vs. Andalusia Bulldogs

The Wetumpka Indians will take on the Andalusia Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wetumpka came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-1 to Holtville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since February 27th.

Meanwhile, Andalusia didn't have quite enough to beat Opp on Tuesday and fell 8-7.

Andalusia got a good showing from Tucker Ward, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Ward posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Grover Wells and Row Thorn stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wells scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Thorn scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Wells a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Riley Cravey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wetumpka's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Andalusia, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Wetumpka took their win against Andalusia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5. Will Wetumpka repeat their success, or does Andalusia has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
