Basketball Recap: Lauren Barnes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbus Homeschool over Indianapolis Homeschool Wildcats

Columbus HomeSchool had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats by a score of 33-30. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lauren Barnes, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Barnes has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Lucas, who posted three points along with five assists and three steals.

Coincidentally, Columbus HomeSchool and Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats will both be playing Indianapolis Northwest W the next time they take the court. Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats will head out to face the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Hawks will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
