Baseball Recap: West Carrollton Comes Up Short

West Carrollton's last matchup with Piqua could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Pirates lost 9-0 to the Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 last Monday.

Braylon Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, West Carrollton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Strauss, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

West Carrollton is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Piqua, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

West Carrollton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trotwood-Madison at 5:00 p.m. on May 8. As for Piqua, they will square off against Stebbins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
