Volleyball Game Preview: Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs vs. Pueblo County Hornets

Pueblo Centennial hasn't had much luck against Pueblo County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Pueblo Centennial came up short against Pueblo East on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-11.

Pueblo Centennial's loss came about despite a quality game from Sierra Montoya, who had eight digs and four aces. Emily Brunner also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Pueblo County didn't have quite enough to beat Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Hornets have struggled against the Red-Tailed Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Pueblo County sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 19-25, 26-24, 19-25, 15-13.

Pueblo Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pueblo County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Pueblo Centennial suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Pueblo County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
