Recap: Oakland Wildcats vs. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins
The Oakland Wildcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They secured a 63-57 W over St. Patrick-St. Vincent. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oakland had a senior duo take command as Jonathan Chapple scored 16 points along with four steals and Isaac Johnson scored 12 points along with two steals. Chapple is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Lacy, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Oakland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.
Oakland will head out on the road to square off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fremont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Oakland is ranked 146th). As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vallejo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vallejo is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
