Baseball Game Preview: Hilbert Wolves vs. Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders

The Hilbert Wolves will head out to take on the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilbert will be strutting in after a win while Sheboygan Area Lutheran will be coming in after a loss.

Hilbert is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Manitowoc Lutheran with a sharp 11-3 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Spencer Karls was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Hilbert: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 0-6 otherwise. Karls was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, Max Schneider was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peter Kesler, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Sheboygan Area Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-0 to Ozaukee.

Sheboygan Area Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hilbert, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7.
