Basketball Recap: Elizabethton Finds Home Court Redemption Against Unicoi County

There's no place like home for Elizabethton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past the Unicoi County Blue Devils with a 59-54 victory on Thursday. This was payback for the Fighting Cyclones, who suffered a 58-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Unicoi County still got an impressive performance from Jackson Simmons, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 27 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Simmons has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Cutlip, who posted 13 points.

Elizabethton pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Unicoi County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
