Soccer Recap: Indian River Comes Up Short

Indian River lost against Western Branch back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Braves came up short against the Bruins, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Indian River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Western Branch are ranked 20th).

Indian River's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Western Branch, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Indian River is set to challenge their familiar foe Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Western Branch will take on rival Grassfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
