Goshen is 1-9 against New Richmond since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. New Richmond took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Goshen, who comes in off a win.
Goshen can't be too worried about heading out to take on New Richmond: they just beat Badin at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Skye Shaw made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Macee Stelle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Josie Purdy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither New Richmond nor St. Ursula Academy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Lions fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since April 18th.
Gracie Seibert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Molly Schuster also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Goshen has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for New Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Goshen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like New Richmond struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Goshen might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from New Richmond when the teams last played back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
