Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Township Hawks vs. Pleasantville Greyhounds

The Manchester Township Hawks will face off against the Pleasantville Greyhounds on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Manchester Township saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson Memorial.

Despite their loss, Manchester Township saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Madeline Nolan, who went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Nolan is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. Another player making a difference was Savannah Jackson, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Manchester Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Pleasantville came up short against Gloucester County Christian on Tuesday and fell 58-47. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manchester Township's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Pleasantville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
