Football Recap: Bowdon's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bowdon walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over the Brooks County Trojans on Monday. Considering the Red Devils have won ten contests by more than 19 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Joshawia Davis and Nathan Bhony. Davis rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries while Bhony rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Davis has posted since back in September. Kaiden Prothro also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.

Bowdon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in 28 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Brooks County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being George Lamons Jr., who picked up 83 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 38 yards. Junior Burrus was another key passer, throwing for 181 yards and two touchdowns.

Bowdon's record is now 13-2. As for Brooks County, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

As of now, neither Bowdon nor Brooks County have any future games scheduled.
