Baseball Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Maret Frogs
Potomac School is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Maret Frogs at 4:00 p.m.
Potomac School can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Bishop O'Connell.
Wyatt Pence was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Maret sidestepped St. Stephen's & St. Agnes for a 9-8 victory.
Isiah Williams made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Williams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, JT Van Geertryden was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aidan Schick, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Everything went Potomac School's way against Maret when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Potomac School made off with a 17-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potomac School since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
