Soccer Game Preview: Lakeside vs. Rancho Christian

The Lakeside Lancers will take on the Rancho Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Last Monday, Lakeside was able to grind out a solid victory over Heritage, taking the game 4-2. It was an even better day for Jesse Paz as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Rancho Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They came up short against Hillcrest, falling 13-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1214th, while the Trojans are ranked 477th).

Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four contests. As for Rancho Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything went Lakeside's way against Rancho Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Lakeside made off with an 8-0 win. Will Lakeside repeat their success, or does Rancho Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
