Wagner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell victim to a rough 15-6 loss at the hands of Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy. Wagner was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Libby Kotab made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Wagner's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7. As for Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagner will challenge Parkston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
