Baseball Recap: Saugus Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Saugus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They skirted past the San Marcos Royals 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Centurions needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Chase Kline looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Haag, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Zackery Seeley was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for San Marcos, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Saugus will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Tustin at 11:00 a.m. Saugus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for San Marcos, they will head out to challenge Royal at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Royal will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
