Basketball Recap: Wooster Christian Comes Up Short

Wooster Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Westside Christian Academy, falling 50-19. Wooster Christian was down 44-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Westside Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Ella Formica, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points and three steals. Formica has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leighton Moore, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Wooster Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Westside Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wooster Christian will face off against Lawrence Upper at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Westside Christian Academy, they will host Heritage Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
