Yerington had won six straight games and Kenneth Picotte did his part to make it seven on Thursday. The Yerington Lions rang in the new year with a 49-39 victory over the North Tahoe Lakers thanks in part to Picotte, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last six times he's played.

Despite the loss, North Tahoe still got an impressive performance from Cormac Springsteel, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Seth Hendricks, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and three blocks.

Yerington pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for North Tahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Yerington and North Tahoe will both be playing Pershing County the next time they take the court. Yerington will host Pershing County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while North Tahoe will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
