Basketball Recap: Carver Comes Up Short

After flying high against Columbus back in December of 2024, Carver came back down to earth. The Carver Tigers took a hard 61-44 fall against the Buford Wolves on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Wolves are ranked 34th).

Carver has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Buford, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Carver won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rockdale County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carver is facing Rockdale County at the right time seeing as Rockdale County is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Buford, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Gainesville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gainesville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Buford surely won't give up without a fight.
