Soccer Recap: Pope John Paul II Takes a Loss

Pope John Paul II lost against Mandeville back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pope John Paul II Jaguars fell 2-0 to the Mandeville Skippers. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Skippers are ranked 16th).

Pope John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 12-8-2. As for Mandeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3-4 record this season.

Pope John Paul II will be playing at home against Newman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mandeville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hammond at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
