See Texas running back get to the house nine times Friday night in dramatic win.

Not a bad little season opener for Robert Guerra of Vela (Edinburg, Texas).

The Victoria East Titans will never forget the 5-foot-8, 160-pound senior after he torched them for nine touchdowns Friday night in a 63-62 double overtime win for Vela.

Guerra produced 359 rushing yards on 35 carries (with a long of 85 yards as seen in the opening play of the highlight video above) plus 70 receiving yards on four receptions. Two of his scores came through the air.

Vela trailed 35-21 at halftime but the engine that is Guerra powered the Sabercats past Victoria East with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and two more in the overtime sessions – including the game-winner.

Guerra posted 1,738 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns last season in leading Vela to a 12-1 record and a trip to the regional round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs.
