Basketball Game Preview: Keswick Christian Crusaders vs. Sarasota Christian Blazers

The Keswick Christian Crusaders will venture away from home to challenge the Sarasota Christian Blazers on Wednesday. Keswick Christian will be strutting in after a win while Sarasota Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Keswick Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 75-26 victory over The Classical Academy of Sarasota. That looming 75-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Crusaders yet this season.

Meanwhile, Sarasota Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 70-60 to Riverview Sarasota. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Rams are ranked 194th).

Keswick Christian will need focus on slowing down Ben Milliken, one of several Sarasota Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 for 18 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. Milliken is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Justin Brock, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points.

Even though they lost, Sarasota Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Sarasota Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Keswick Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Keswick Christian suffered a grim 74-53 defeat to Sarasota Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Keswick Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
