Marion-Franklin waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the South Bulldogs with a sharp 27-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 28-1 on April 2nd.
Marion-Franklin got a massive performance out of Lily Dexter, who got on base in four of her eight plate appearances with one home run and four runs. Another player making a difference was Caitlynn McGee, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with four runs and one double.
Marion-Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for South, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marion-Franklin will square off against rival Walnut Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South is set to challenge their familiar foe Africentric Early College at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
