Basketball Recap: Lawrence Comes Up Short

On Sunday, the Lawrence Lancers came up short against the Franklin Panthers and fell 78-67. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Panthers are ranked first).

Lawrence's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

The future could be bright for both Lawrence and Franklin: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lawrence will try to hand Haverhill their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Franklin will look to extend Canton's five-game losing streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
